August 6, 2009
Do you wish you could earn rewards making routine, everyday purchases? Are you tired of rewards cards that force you to spend a lot just to earn a little? If you’re looking for a credit card that you can use for purchases big and small and you wouldn’t mind earning up to three points per dollar spent, then you might want to consider the Woolworths Everyday Money Card.
Find out more about the Woolworths Everyday Money credit card below, and discover how you can start earning more points towards rewards you can really use!
Type of Credit Card: Rewards Card
Interest Rates*: This card, issued by HSBC, carries a 17.99% APR and offers up to 55 days interest free on purchases.
Annual Fee*: The regular annual fee for the Woolworths Everyday Money card is $49. However, that fee is waived the first year as a special introductory offer for new cardholders.
Rewards / Extras*: Your Woolworths Everyday Money card allows you to earn rewards points towards shopping cards (which are issued every four months if you meet the point payout requirements). You can earn up to three points per dollar spent, which is higher than rewards points offered on many other credit cards.
You’ll earn the highest level of rewards points (three per dollar spent) when you purchase select products from Woolworths or Safeway Supermarkets (in-store — online purchases are not eligible). You’ll earn two points for each dollar spent on all other Woolworths and Safeway products, or when used for BIG W, CALTEX WOOLWORTHS / SAFEWAY co-branded fuel outlets, epump, Woolworths / Safeway Liquor, BWS, Dan Murphy’s, and Thomas Dux purchases, or purchases with Dick Smith and Tandy stores participating in the programme. You can earn one point per dollar spent on other purchases (with some exceptions such as business expenses, balance transfers, and cash advances — please review the terms carefully when you apply).
When you earn enough rewards points to get an Everyday Money Shopping Card, you can redeem it at participating stores (including many of the retailers mentioned above).
While the Woolworths Everyday Money card’s rewards programme can sound a bit complicated, what it boils down to is that the card lives up to its name — you’ll earn rewards on your “everyday” purchases like groceries and petrol.
Additional Details*: In addition to the rewards programme, the Woolworths Everyday Money credit card lets you choose your card’s colour (from black, pink, blue, and green) and allows you to add one additional cardholder at no extra cost.
