Credit Card Profile: ANZ Low Rate MasterCard
November 16, 2009
If you’re sick and tired of worrying about rewards points, high interest rates, and other typical credit card hassles, a no-frills option might be right for you. No-frills credit cards like the ANZ Low Rate MasterCard cut out many of the perks you might not use anyway and give you low interest and low annual fees in return. This one even lets you personalise your credit card in ways more elaborate credit cards don’t.
Find out more about the ANZ Low Rate MasterCard below and discover what a no-frills credit card really offers.
Type of Credit Card: Low interest credit card / Balance transfer card
Interest Rates*: While the ANZ Low Rate MasterCard has typically high interest rates for cash advances (20.49%), you’ll enjoy much lower rates for both purchases and balance transfers.
In fact, you can have up to six months interest-free on balance transfers before it reverts to the standard variable interest rate on purchases. Even if six months doesn’t sound like a long time, don’t fret. You’ll still enjoy low interest with a purchase interest rate of only 12.24%.
Annual Fee*: In addition to offering a great no-interest deal on balance transfers and a low interest rate on regular purchases, the ANZ Low Rate MasterCard also boasts a low annual fee — just $58.
Rewards / Extras*: The ANZ Low Rate MasterCard isn’t a rewards card, and the no-frills setup is one of the reasons ANZ can offer such low interest rates and such a low annual fee on this card.
However, you will benefit from up to 55 interest free days on purchases and you can have up to three additional cardholders for no added cost.
ANZ also offers a “Design My Card” feature which allows you to upload an image or photograph. That image (if it doesn’t violate the image guidelines) will then be shown on your new credit card. If you don’t want to personalise your card quite that much you can choose from a selection of existing images in ANZ’s library.
Additional Details*: Permanent Australian residents must meet the minimum annual income requirement of $15,000 to be eligible for the ANZ Low Rate MasterCard.
* Interest rates, annual fees, and other credit card details were taken from the most accurate data available at the time of writing. All rates and fees are subject to change from the issuing bank, and their inclusion here in no way serves as a guarantee of rates.
