Introductory Offer Credit Card Comparison Chart
April 30, 2010
We’ve been providing a series of credit card comparison charts focused on specific types of credit cards — balance transfer cards, rewards cards, etc. Today we’re going to give you another comparison chart you can use, but it’s a little bit different. Rather than being dedicated to a certain type of card, it’s dedicated to comparing introductory offers — the limited-time deals that often attract customers to new credit cards.
As in our other charts, we’ve pre-filled some comparison points that we think are important, and you can add more of your own at the top of the empty columns. You can use the short-form version below as a guide, or download the .pdf version linked below the example chart to compare more cards and add even more comparison points.
We’ve included an example to show you how to fill out the chart. In this case, we suggest using a new chart for each type of introductory offer you’re considering if they vary greatly. For example, you might not be able to directly compare an introductory interest rate and an introductory offer giving you no annual fee for the first year. For things like interest rates where the total dollar value saved isn’t easy to calculate (because how long it takes you to pay off the debt influences how much you really save), you can leave that column blank.
Download a copy of our .pdf version to compare up to ten different credit card introductory offers. You can use more than one chart if you need to compare more offers side-by-side. You can also add up to five extra comparison points that are most important to you in the .pdf version. (Note: To open and print the .pdf version of this credit card comparison chart for introductory offers, you’ll need Adobe’s Acrobat Reader software or other .pdf reader software.)
If you’re not interested in comparing a variety of different introductory offer credit cards, consider one of our other credit card comparison charts tailored to specific types of cards including balance transfer cards, frequent flyer cards, low rate credit cards, and no annual fee credit cards.
