Profile: Citibank Ready Credit Plus Debit Card
May 30, 2011
Credit cards can give you convenience and access to funds you wouldn’t otherwise have. But what if you need more flexibility in how you can access and use those funds, such as accessing cash without exorbitant cash advance fees? If that’s the case, you might want to consider a line of credit instead — preferably one offering similar card convenience with a debit card that lets you access your funds.
Credit lines give you more flexibility when it comes to how you can use your money. While credit cards might be a fine option for everyday spending or online purchases, some businesses still prefer cash and cheques. And sometimes a line of credit can give you more access to credit than a typical credit card. If you want to purchase a car for example, a personal line of credit would be your better option.
Citibank Ready Credit is one such credit line with debit card access. Learn more about Citibank Ready Credit below or apply for your credit line using the application link we’ve provided.
Type of Account: Bank credit line you can use via a debit card, cheques, or online access
Interest Rates*: The Citibank Ready Credit line features an introductory interest rate of just 9.9%, making it comparable to low interest credit cards currently on the market. That introductory rate will be valid for 15 months.
This rate reverts to the higher cash advance rate of 18.99% after the introductory period expires. However, the introductory period is longer than that of most credit cards, and the cash advance rate is on par with, or lower than, most credit card cash advance rates.
Even though you’ll pay a cash advance interest rate later with this line of credit, it’s important to note that you will not be charged cash advance fees when you want to access cash using your debit card. That’s not true of most credit cards, where you’re hit with both higher interest and per-transaction cash advance fees that can be either a set fee or a percentage of each cash advance.
Annual Fee*: This line of credit comes with no annual fees and no monthly fees. However, there is a one-time establishment fee of $69.
Rewards / Extras*: Unlike many credit cards, the Citibank Ready Credit line does not offer access to a rewards programme or perks common to many credit cards. The biggest perk in contrast to credit cards is the fact that you can access your money in different ways (such as via cheque if you want to pay for home improvements or something else where the company might prefer cheque-based payments).
Additional Details*: Credit limits for this credit line vary based on your credit history and financial data provided with your application. They can range from $5000 to $25000. The minimum criteria to be approved for a Citibank Ready Credit line include being at least 18 years of age, a permanent resident of Australia, and earning at least $30000 per year.
* Interest rates, annual fees, and other credit line and debit card details were taken from the most accurate data available at the time of writing. All rates and fees are subject to change from the issuing bank, and their inclusion here in no way serves as a guarantee of rates. Please review rates and terms with the card issuer at the time of application.
