Top Pick Credit Card Offers for May 2011
May 4, 2011
We do our part to help you stay on top of changing credit card deals each month by publishing a top picks list featuring the best of the best. Now it’s time to highlight some of the best credit card offers for this month. You’ll find some familiar offers here, including our top two picks that each held their positions from April.
Here are our top five credit card picks for May 2011:
1. Citibank Clear Platinum Credit Card
Why we love it: We still can’t get over the great 0% interest offer on purchases! When you are approved for a Citibank Clear Platinum credit card, you can enjoy 0% interest on both purchases and balance transfers for your first six months. After that, you can still take advantage of the regular low purchase rate of just 11.99%. With a reasonable $49 annual fee, this credit card offer is a real bargain.
Why we love it: The Aussie MasterCard may not give you 0% on purchases, but it has an amazing offer on interest all its own. For your first 12 months as a cardholder you can enjoy 9.99% interest on purchases (not counting your up to 55 interest free days) and 2.99% interest on balance transfers. It also features a $49 annual fee, and when your initial offer expires your purchase rate stays low at just 13.29%.
3. Woolworths Frequent Flyer MasterCard
Why we love it: No, this credit card doesn’t feature the lowest annual fee or interest rates. But it’s one of the better rewards card options around. Why? Because in addition to your usual one point per dollar spent, you can get a bonus 16,000 points as a new cardholder! The $89 annual fee might not be low when compared to some other featured offers, but it’s still very reasonable for a frequent flyer credit card.
4. Citibank Platinum Credit Card
Why we love it: Here’s another rewards credit card that makes our list due to rewards point bonuses rather than low rates or low annual fees. You can avoid the 20.99% interest rate by taking advantage of your up to 55 interest free days. And you can make up for that first $250 annual fee when you take advantage of the incredible 60,000 bonus rewards points you’ll get when you use your new credit card. That’s equal to six one way flights (Sydney to Gold Coast) or $350 in gift vouchers!
Why we love it: The ANZ Low Rate MasterCard is an all-around good deal. You’ll get a low 13.49% interest rate on purchases. You can transfer existing balances to the card at a 2.9% interest rate for your first 12 months. And you get a reasonable $58 annual fee. What’s not to love about simplicity?
