Commonwealth (ASX. CBA) bank has launched a new security access feature that confirms transactions made by each customer. Titled Netcode SMS, the system sends a code instantly to the user’s mobile device each time a transaction is completed. This service is free to all Commonwealth customers. read more >

It’s not paranoia if they really are out to get you, an old saw goes. For some Commonwealth Bank credit card customers this morning, there could be some truth in it.
Scheduled computer and infrastructure maintenance and upgrades performed over the weekend caused a disruption of Commonwealth’s credit card services, leaving some customers unable to access their accounts, utilise the website—or even use their cards. read more >

The largest bank in Australia, Commonwealth (CBA), wants loan income so badly, they’re raising customer service employees’ sales quotas and telling them to hard-sell banking customers.
Financial products meeting the CBA quota include higher credit card limits, new credit cards, mortgages, personal loans, and other forms of debt. Each type of loan sold earns the customer service employee a certain number of quota points. As part of the drive, CBA has increased each employee’s quota from 44.5 to 49 points per week—an increase of 10%. read more >
