As the low cost airline associated with Qantas, Jetstar as a brand needs no introduction. The name is already familiar to many who have travelled on domestic or short haul international flights out of Australian airports. Jetstar offers a Mastercard and Platinum Mastercard as well as a travel card. With the Mastercard range you can access Jetstar’s own rewards program, Jetstar dollars. These are accrued faster on the Platinum card and can be redeemed for Jetstar flight vouchers.

One nice feature about Jetstar dollars is that vouchers are automatically sent to your inbox to redeem when you have accrued more than $100 Jetstar dollars, so they shouldn’t lay idle on your card and unused.

The two standard Mastercard options also come with a full range of insurance options, underwritten by ACE and Chartis and concierge assistance (when applicable) offered by SOS (Australasia). Cardholders can also opt-in to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, but then this is instead of Jetstar dollars, so if you’re considering a Jetstar Mastercard you’ll need to choose one rewards program to link with the card. The Qantas Frequent Flyer program also comes with a joining fee that will apply to Jetstar Mastercard holders, but Platinum cardholders who opt-in don’t have to pay the fee. The $30 annual fee as a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program will still apply though.

Some may not be familiar with the Jetstar Travel card, which comes with up to 9 currencies and is reloadable.
